For Adult Students

Clarinet lessons and piano lessons in Long Beach, CA

Have you always wanted to learn an instrument?

When we think of piano or clarinet lessons, the student we often imagine in our minds is a young child in the beginning stages of learning an instrument. However, students of all ages can be found taking lessons (teens, adults, seniors), all coming from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and experience.

Playing an instrument is a wonderful hobby for many adults and can bring a lot of joy to your life! I’ve ran into so many adults who have said they wish they learned to play an instrument as a child, or did but wish they stuck with it. Truth is, our love and curiosity for music doesn’t end with childhood and neither does our capacity to learn.

Learning may be a little bit different when you are an adult, often because we have some preconceived ideas of the things we can or cannot do. But I promise, with some time and patience you will surprise yourself! Anything worth learning will take some amount time and will challenge you along the way too (in a fun way, of course!).

So whether you are interested in taking lessons for the first time or are drawn to discovering your instrument once again, contact me about your goals. We’ll make your lessons be about what you want to learn and apply reasonable expectations to make sure you are finding both success and meaning in your study of music. Taking up a new hobby as an adult is one of the most powerful and rewarding things we can do for ourselves!
